Rockstar Daddy is the first in a new series by Taryn Quinn (aka Taryn Elliott and Cari Quinn) with the members of Wilder Mind. Kellan McGuire is the lead singer and founder for Wilder Mind. On one of her trips home to Turnbull, Lila Shawcross met Kellan at her parents' apple orchard and offered Kellan a job at Ripper Records as an account rep. He started out as representing artists then he was given the chance to have his own shot at stardom. Kellan called the members of his old high school band and put together Wilder Mind. Now they are on the edge of breaking into their own stardom. Kellan takes the holidays off and goes home to Turnbull to the property he bought and is in the midst of refurbishing the house, his own escape from the stress of LA.Maggie is the youngest of the Kelly girls and is the 'good girl' in town; she is always doing things for others. Which is why she is out in the beginnings of a blizzard taking fresh baked bread to an elderly lady just outside Turnbull. She loses control of her car trying to avoid hitting a doe and fawn in the road. She crashes into the ditch in front of Kellan's house. It's New Year's Eve and she's stuck with spotty cell service and a man she's afraid might be a serial killer. She readily admits that last bit might just be her wild imagination.
Stuck in a blizzard with an insanely handsome man, a few beers, and scavenged bits of food left in the house, what happens is inevitable with the level of attraction between Maggie and Kellan.
Rockstar Daddy is funny, fast moving and sweet.

1st read, I have read by Taryn ... I prefer cabin Kellan over rock star Kellan ... I think Maggie "Red" is too too cute ... love her to pieces ... she is so funny, quick come back and just so feisty. Some of the comments that Kellan makes in the cable I think are just to egg on Maggie ... I loved that! So many great scenes there ... if only it could have lasted forever .... that made the book in my humble opinion. great read. Loved it! Check it out! Love rockstars? Sexy, growly heroes maybe? Prepare to give it up for Kellan McGuire, because he's both, and then some. Sassy little Maggie Kelly isn't sure how to handle this dirty talker at first, but it doesn't take her long to figure it out. Things heat up reaaaal quick.
This was another fast, fun, hot, and even a little bit sweet, Taryn Quinn story you won't want to miss. And if my instincts are correct, we may see a few secondary characters in the future.
Rockstar Daddy wasn't too heavy. It had just the perfect blend of sexy, funny, sweet and adorable. There was even an appearance from my favorite band manager, Lila, from the Lost In Oblivion and Found In Oblivion series.
Anyways, Kellan has worked behind the scenes managing other bands and is now on the brink of living out his dream to be a rockstar and front his very own band. During a visit to his vacation home for some solitude, Maggie Kelly practically crash lands into his life. Her perky, quirky and straight forward personality turns out to be much stronger than his quiet broodiness and sparks fly.
These two had great chemistry and were such great characters. I laughed plenty of times. Almost cried a time or two and got heated up throughout their times between the sheets. Sweet and innocent little Maggie is not all she appears to be and the reputation that has followed her her whole life has Kellan thinking he'll never be good enough for her.
Rockstar Daddy is pretty self explanatory and wasn't filled with any craziness. It was perfect for lighthearted reading and a wonderful start for a new series.

Kellan McQuire, 27, plans to spend his New Year’s Eve alone at his cabin with some beer. Do-gooder Maggie Kelly, 22, plans to spend it with a lonely old lady eating baked bread. But when a snowy road derails her car, they end up spending it together.
This was an okay read. Nothing spectacular, but nothing overly problematic either. Mostly, I struggled a bit to get a gauge on the characters. It felt like the writers didn’t have a consistent handle on them either. Kellan mentions just a few too many times how he’s at the cabin to escape fame, yet he hasn’t quite achieved it yet. He has aspirations to be a successful musician, but he’s already grown tired of the business. He was a bit of a paradox.
Maggie too. One minute she was raised not to say swear words, the next she’s letting them flow freely. She has a reputation as a virgin, but she had a boyfriend for four years who she was sleeping with. She seemed a bit flighty too.
Told via their alternating first person POV, they weren’t unlikable, but they weren’t easy to connect with either. While Maggie was at least consistent, Kellan’s harsher voice in the early chapters didn’t feel like the same character as the softer later ones, though I preferred the later.
I couldn’t help feel that the conflict was a little contrived. Maggie knows and agrees to their relationship being nothing more than a fling, a no strings attached arrangement, so the fact that Kellan withheld the details of his career didn’t seem like it was the betrayal it was made out to be. And personally I thought Maggie’s friend overstepped her bounds. Her arrival was knee-jerk drama at the least and illogical at best. (Plane tickets aren’t cheap.)
The duo has a good amount of sexy encounters. There’s no skimping on the love scenes, and the story is safe. The only turn-off was Kellan’s admission (and more than one occasion reference) that he made out with Maggie’s older sister in high school. Thankfully, they never slept together, but it was a bit too close for comfort for me.
Don’t let the title mislead you, as noted in the front matter this is more about the baby making than Kellan’s daddy days, which I wish we could have seen more of. That cover is quite ovary weeping.
